BOSTON BAY: The Sweet Spot Of Jamaica
Boston Bay is a little town nestled in between Port Antonio, the capital of the parish of Portland and Long Bay, the district with the longest and most rugged coastline in Portland. Portland, the original home of Jamaican tourism, also boasts the birthplace of jerk, Jamaican's world famous mouth watering seasoning and method of cooking all types of delicacies from pork to chicken to lobster to fish. The world famous Boston Jerk Centre sits only steps from the first jerk pit in Jamaica and attracts thousands of tourists and locals alike. Fittingly so, the first Jerk Festival was held in Boston Bay. Boston Beach is also the birthplace of surfing in the Caribbean and is one of the few places in Jamaica where you can catch a wave and walk with your board on water. AHH! sits on a little hill overlooking the Jerk Centre and the blue undulating waters of Boston Beach. We share the same air and on many a day, you can hear the waves crashing and the boogie beats happening down at the beach. AHH! offers two guest suites. Both have separate entrances but are attached to a larger house with a large covered patio and a pool. The Ocean View Studio has spectacular ocean views and the surrounding hills. The Pool Room, as its name suggests, has a pool view as well as ocean views from the bedroom and the bathroom. Each bedroom boasts an upgraded private bathroom, a kitchenette outfitted with a regrigerator, microwave, and hot water kettle. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water is offered in each room.
Outside in the common areas, guests can lounge poolside on the patio in comfy cushioned rattan chairs or take a refreshing dip in the pool. Guests can also grab a chair and sit outside on the lawn to take in the sun rising from the ocean at dawn or marvel at the decorative vanilla sky at dusk.
An eveninng stroll down the hill to Boston Beach or the world famous Boston Jerk Centre for dinner is always an option. Other eating options abound including Gurley Aston for fish and other seafood made to order and Rocky's Fried Chicken for not only fried chicken but also authentic Jamaican dishes. Need a little entertainment, check out Cee Lee's for a drink and try your hand on the gaming boxes outfitted with poker and blackjack or stroll down to any little bar for music and laughter. You will have awesome options to fill your day and night no matter your taste!
